Evelyn Ann Graham's Obituary
Evelyn "Lyn" Ann Uchman Graham, born on August 2, 1959, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at her home in Richardson, Texas, on January 27, 2025, after a courageous 12-year struggle with lung cancer.
Lyn was the cherished daughter of Frank Henry Uchman and Dorothy Schaerer Uchman. She spent her early years in Pennsylvania and Texas alongside her brother Chris Uchman. In 1980, following her father’s marriage to Margaret "Peggy" Dunn Graffeo in Dallas, Texas, Lyn welcomed six step-siblings into her life: Jane, Susie, Genevieve, Joe, Frank, and Stephen Graffeo.
Lyn pursued a dedicated professional career after completing high school and some college studies. She worked for 16 years at Republic National Life Insurance Company in Dallas before joining the Boy Scouts of America in 2007. At the National Office, she contributed to Information Technology and later transitioned to the Supply Division. Her passion for Scouting led her to Circle Ten Council in Irving, Texas, where she played an integral role in fundraising and finance until her retirement in August 2024.
Guided by the principles of the Scout Law—to be trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent—Lyn brought warmth and positivity to all who knew her. While deeply committed to her work, she always treasured her family and friends above all else.
Lyn was preceded in death by mother Dorothy, father Frank, stepmother Peggy, and nephew Will Sarosdy.
She is survived many loving relatives: Brothers Chris Uchman and wife Kathy, Joe Graffeo and partner Linda Campion, Frank Graffeo and wife Christy, and Stephen Graffeo and husband Jim Wiegand; sisters Jane Graffeo Sarosdy and husband Dan Simms, Susan Graffeo and husband Joe Franzen, and Genevieve Graffeo Stubbs and husband Kevin; Nieces and nephews Chris Uchman, Jr. and wife Aimee Ann, Brandi Uchman McBrien, Margaret Stubbs Bosenbark and husband Chris, John Stubbs and wife Colleen, Grace Sarosdy and husband Ben Martin, and Frank Sarosdy; as well as grandnieces and grandnephews Sophia Uchman, Connor and Aiden McBrien, Enzo Graffeo, Caitlyn and Will Bosenbark, Brittany Bosenbark Bryant, Jackson Bosenbark, and Shannon Stubbs.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on March 1, 2025, at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate memorial contributions to Scouting America or Circle Ten Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
