Evelyn Green's Obituary
GREEN, EVELYN EVANS Born April 2, 1928 in Houston, TX. Died June 3 in Dallas. She moved in 1944 to Dallas to attend SMU. Survived by sons, Harold Green and wife, Gale and Robert Green; grandchildren: Michael, Allison, Robert, Patrick and Crystal Green and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Robert Green; parents and brothers, Harold and Jack Evans. She taught for 40 years and after retirement, she substituted 10 years at Charles Gill. She was one of the original faculty at W.W. Bushman. She taught for her last 24 years at E.J. Kiest. She loved teaching and hoped always to be a positive influence on children. She was an honorary member of both National and State PTAs. The Texas Education Agency awarded her a certificate “Hero’s of Texas Children.” She was a charter member of the Dallas Shetland Sheepdog Club and a member for over 30 years of All Breed Obedience Club, where she taught dog obedience. She was a Dog World Award recipient. She was also a member of Mesquite Valley Christian Church. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00PM, Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held 10:00AM,Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Restland Wildwood Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Dallas Shetland Sheepdog Club, SPCA of Texas or Boy Scouts.
