Evelyn Highfill's Obituary
Evelyn Humphrey Highfill born April 5, 1934 in Neodesha, Kansas, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 19, 2018. Evelyn is preceded by her loving parents Dr. & Mrs. Hugh and Edith Humphrey, Medical Missionaries to China. She leaves behind the love of her life, her husband, Gordon Highfill, her beloved daughter, Dr. Pam Highfill, her precious sister, Nancy Humphrey Dark, Nancy’s loving family and Evelyn’s nieces and nephew. Her church home was Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas. Evelyn served as a Pastor’s wife in their various churches. She will be thoughtfully remembered as an accomplished Bible Teacher, a wise and Godly counselor and a gifted pianist. Fulfilling a dream of hers later in life, Evelyn owned and operated a successful Hallmark Cards and Gifts store in North Dallas. After retirement, she worked as an entrepreneur running a small business with Gordon well into her late 70’s. As a cancer survivor, she was known as a fighter.In lieu of flowers it is the family’s request to make contributions in her memory to the Susan B.
