Evelyn Sorrels Joynt's Obituary
Evelyn Sorrels Joynt, 85, of Plano, Texas passed away on November 26, 2017. She was born December 1931 to Leslie E. Goss, Sr. and Lorene Goss Parrish. A lifelong resident of Dallas, Evelyn raised four sons, and she was a successful businesswoman. In her 30+ year career at Markem Corporation, she rose to the level of regional manager of customer service, and the Employee of the Year award was named after her. Still, she always made time for her sons’ games and activities.In retirement, she maintained close relationships with her family, and especially her grandchildren, who she loved dearly. She and her husband, Jimmie, enjoyed traveling and spending time in their beautiful backyard. She loved hosting family celebrations with festive decorations, cocktail hour, and fabulous meals. This last Thanksgiving was a particularly special event. Never to miss an opportunity, she was dressed to the nines (heels included). Evelyn gave a lovely speech to the family and held court as the matriarch of the family for the last time.Survivors include: husband, Jimmie Joynt, Sr. of Plano; sons Barry Sorrels of Dallas, Craig Sorrels and wife, Sandy, of Dallas; Lance Sorrels and wife, Barbara, of Wylie; James Joynt, Jr., and wife Rhonda, of Wylie; brother, Leslie E. Goss, Jr., and wife Gerry, of Colorado; and grandchildren, Quincy and Avery Sorrels, Taylor, Jake and Cole Sorrels, Brett Sorrels Delaney Joynt. She was preceded in death by her brother James Goss and her son Nathan Sorrels.The family will receive visitors from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Restland Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 beginning at 3:00PM at Restland Wildwood Chapel, with burial to follow at Restland Cemetery.
