Evelyn Dorothy Kaestner's Obituary
While she received the memo some a few years ago, she just got around to reading it…Evelyn D Kaestner, 97, peacefully passed away on February 12, 2021. Evelyn was born April 24, 1923 in Roanoke Va to the late Grace and Archie Woodlief.
Evelyn was mother to Sandra Meltzer of Richardson, Tx, and Michael Kaestner (deceased). Know as “Maw-Maw” to Steven Portman, Wendi Portman, Dillon Kaestner, and Adair Kaestner. Known is “Gigi” to Rylee Portman, Lexi Portman, and Jade Lujan.
Evelyn is preceded in death by husband Paul D Kaestner, brothers Russel and Jack Woodlief, and her son Michael Kaestner.
Evelyn was a stay-at-home mom until her children were grown. She then worked for Southland Corporation until her retirement. She was a loving mother and grandmother, as well as an avid Dallas Cowboys Football fan. Evelyn spent the last few years under the care of her daughter Sandra.
Memorial service will be held Friday, March 5, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Wild Wood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
