Evelyn Dees Lucas' Obituary
LUCAS, EVELYN DEES Evelyn Dees Lucas was born December 31, 1921 in Kaufman, TX and passed away from this earthly life, in her home, Wednesday, September 24, 2008. Evelyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her loving family. Evelyn graduated from North Dallas High School where she first met her husband of 59 years, Faithon P. Lucas, Jr., who with his family owned and operated the Dallas institution, Lucas B & B Restaurant for 78 years. Evelyn was a long time member of the University Park United Methodist Church, the fellowship class, and the Highland Park Book Club and enjoyed a lifetime of love and total devotion to her family. She worked in many positions within her church, and enjoyed traveling to all parts of the world. She was preceded in death by her husband, Faithon P. Lucas, Jr., daughter, Joane Catherine and brother, Russell Dees. Left to cherish her memory, her sons , Faithon P. Lucas III and wife, Vicki, Tony Lucas and wife, Dottie and daughter, Hazel Lucas Hardacker and husband, David, sister, Betty Ferguson and her devoted caregiver, Val Bollin. She has nine beautiful grandchildren who she loved dearly, Elena, Annie, George, Teresa, Andrea, Joe, Amanda, Lauren and Matthew; three great grandchildren, Mariel, Julia and Jamey. Service will be 11:00 AM, Monday, September 29, 2008 at the University Park United Methodist Church, 4024 Caruth Blvd., Dallas, TX 75235 with visitation 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Interment to follow at Restland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Generations to Generation Capital Campaign Fund UPMC, 4024 Caruth Blvd., Dallas, TX 75235.
