Evelyn Thomas' Obituary
Evelyn Thomas, long-time resident of Garland, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2008 at the age of 93. She was a member of Church of the King, Dallas, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Thomas and grandson James Gregory Thomas. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Faye Thomas and Jim and Karen Thomas, all of Garland; five grandchildren, Jim, Mike, Laurel, Jeff and David; four great-grandchildren, Zack, Jason, Kimberly and Tyler; and many friends and other relatives. She retired at age 76 from Lanpar Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Company. Born in Fort Worth, July 30, 1915 to Walter and Ruth Sims Leath, she graduated from Polytechnic High School in 1933. She married John on November 19, 1938 and they made Fort Worth their home for many years where they were active members of Travis Avenue Baptist Church and she worked for Montgomery Ward and Letson Automotive. Services will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, August 14, at Restland’s Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be from 6:30 ‘ 8:30, Wednesday, August 13, at Restland’s Memorial Chapel.
