I never knew Everett (don't know) but when I read his obit it brought back so many memories that we both shared. In 1957, my father, like Mr. May, was transferred and stationed at Wheelus AFB in Tripoli, Libya for three years. I was still in school so my Dad, Fred Kyer, went ahead to secure housing etc, for our arrival. My Mom and I sailed from Fort Hamilton,NY on my 8th birthday, to Tripoli, with stops in Casablanca, Morocco and Naples, Italy, and then to Tripoli on the USS Upshur which took two weeks. Those were the most exciting three years in my life. So many memories. I hope you don't mind, but when I read his lovely obit, I felt a compelled to write to you and yours as military family (USAF) offer my condolences. God bless you Everett Junior May. Thank you for sharing this moment with me.
