Ms. F. Jean Brown's Obituary
On Sunday morning, September 23, 2007, a vibrant and generous spirit went home. We will miss her. Jean was born in Mississippi, July 15, 1930, and passed away in Dallas on September 23, 2007. She grew up in Baker, LA and graduated Louisiana State University. She remained a loyal Tiger, supporter of both the university and her sorority, Alpha Chi Omega. Her teaching career began in Baton Rouge and brought her to Dallas where she taught P.E. and was a longtime guidance counselor, retiring from W.T. White in 1990. Jean served in leadership capacities in several professional organizations, and was especially active in the Northwest Dallas Homeowners Association. She enjoyed her retirement years and remained active until recently. Her final illness was fought -as she lived- with courage and determination. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, George and Louie Brown, brothers, Rodolf, Robert and Ray , and sisters, Lonora and Helen. She is survived by her brother Ossie and his wife, Faye, of Baton Rouge, LA, sister-in-law, Caralie Brown of Raleigh, N.C. and sister-in-law, Vee Brown of Biloxi, MS. She also leaves a number of nieces and nephews. Jean will always be lovingly remembered by her long time friend, Joy Babb and her special friend, Liz Payne. Many, many friends share our sorrow at losing Jean.
