Fannie Mae Borders' Obituary
Fannie Mae Crim Borders, age 95, went to join her Savior Jesus Christ and husband Frank Borders in heaven July 2, 2019 at The Reserve Richardson. Fannie was born November 8, 1923 in McKinney, Texas, the sixth of thirteen children born to Glen and Myrtle (Crockett) Crim.Fannie is survived by her son Paul Borders, her grandson Brian Borders, her granddaughter Bonnie (Borders) Campbell and husband Robert Campbell, and by her sister Sue Hunt and family.Fannie graduated from McKinney High School in 1942 where she was a drum majorette and learned shorthand. Fannie lived most of her adult life in Dallas, TX. During World War 2 Fannie worked as a “Rosie the Riveter” at love Field Lockheed Aircraft Corp. patching up P-38 and B-17 airplanes. She also met her husband Frank Borders in Dallas and they were married October 13, 1945. In December 1949 they were blessed with the birth of their son Paul FrankBorders.Fannie was an active member of Casa Linda Presbyterian Church and New Covenant Presbyterian church where she volunteered in the nursery, taught Sunday school, helped with the church newsletter and more. Fannie became “Me-Maw” when her grandchildren Brian and Bonnie were born. She was a beloved grandmother and mother all wrapped into one. Fannie was an excellent southern cook and seamstress and enjoyed gardening, shopping, Biblestudies, and spending time with family.After her stroke in August 2018, Fannie completed all of her therapy sessions and never ceased to amaze all of her therapists by her determination to recover “and go back to work”. She also enjoyed participating in a myriad of activities including bingo, manis/pedis, Bible studies, exercise classes, painting classes, playing dominoes, doing puzzles and singing along to her favorite songs. She also enjoyed taking “walks” outside to feel the warm sunshine and look at the wildflowers. To her every day was Sunday, her favorite day of the week.Fannie’s family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to all who played a role in her care.A graveside service will be held at Restland on Friday, June 5, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. There will be a reception following at Lake Pointe Church Richland Campus 1601 Buckingham Rd, Richardson, TX 75081.
