The first time I met Fannie Kelly, she introduced herself as Pom Pom. I met her the week before her grandson, Chris, and I were to be married. As a wedding gift, she offered her home to us to spend a week during our honeymoon. Because we didn't have alot of money for a lengthy honeymoon, we went to Dallas to enjoy some activities, and we spent the week at Pom Pom's house. She had stocked her refrigerator with food and wine and had placed mints on our pillows and had crisp white comfy sheets and soft towels for us. A beautiful arrangement of flowers were on the table for me when I arrived. She had thought of everything. I never forgot this act of kindness shown to me, a newcomer. Each time we visited, she showered us with refreshment and made over Chris so much. She was a very generous, gracious lady to all.
