Mrs. Faye H Holder's Obituary
Mrs. Faye H Holder, age 90, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023, in Waco, Texas. She will be sincerely missed by her loving family, devoted friends, and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved her. Vida Faye Holder was born February 25, 1933 in Emory, Texas to Ardean and Tanzlear Hughey. She was the third of six children, three boys and three girls. There has never been a closer bunch, moving to Dallas in the late 40s with the family. She soon started her own family. Children, Paul and Wend'e became the center of her universe. The sun would rise and set on her family, her whole family. Nothing, absolutely nothing, was more important. She was fiercely loyal, regardless. She worked as an accountant most of her career. She retired from GNB battery company with more than 20 years of experience. She was very proud of her union involvement, often defending her union brothers in contract disputes. She had become involved in real estate and rental properties, which continued on until her death. She has a number of tenants that have been with her for years. She has proven time and time again the value of treating people with respect and compassion. Gardening has brought her much joy. She was especially gifted with roses and exotic, flowering vines. She claimed her yard was her therapy. She spent the last few years in Waco Texas close to her son and his family. She cultivated a number of close relationships at Lakeshore Estates, Independent living center. Staff and residents alike have expressed their deep sorrow for her passing. Family and friends alike have a huge emptiness. We are a beacon of light, joy, humor, compassion, and a love of God used to reside.
