Finnley Steven Case's Obituary
Finnley Steven Case arrived earlier than expected on March 28, 2019 at 7:58 in the morning at Clements Hospital in Dallas, TX. And on February 3, 2020, he went to sleep in the loving arms of his mommy and daddy.
Finnley was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, which required him needing a new heart, earning him the nickname, “our little Tinman.” At just five weeks he was blessed with a new heart. He selflessly shared that blessing by giving countless others many precious memories, photos, and videos. It was no coincidence that his name meant “warrior”. He truly had a warrior spirit and was a fighter to the very end.
He is survived by his mommy and daddy, Ashley Edwards and Dennis Case of Denton, TX. Steve Edwards (Grumpa) of Plano, TX. Jim and Denise Dickson (Grandpa and MeeMee) of Douglass, TX. Kirk Taylor and Melody Edwards (Poppy and Gigi) of Allen, TX. Johnnie Dale Norris (Big Granny) of Douglass, TX. Johnnie Richardson (Nina) of Allen, TX. Glenn and Joy Edwards (Papa and Mima) of Plano, TX. Wanda Norris (Mama Norris) of Douglass, TX. He is also survived by many other aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and one big extended family called Team Finn.
He is preceded in death by Steven Case (grandfather), Don Richardson (Papa), Dennis Norris (Grandad), and Martha Case (Granny Martha).
His service will be held at Restland Memorial Chapel in Dallas, TX on February 8, 2020 at 11:00 AM. The family has designated the American Heart Association for memorial contributions.
Beyond the edge of time and space
In my mind's eye I see a place
Where love and joy and perfect peace
Make all our pain and sorrows cease;
There is no hate to poison there
No doubts or feeling of despair
No part of human pride and greed
No wars to maim, no wounds to bleed;
All fear and dread are cast aside
And all our needs are satisfied,
We walk no more in earthly night
For God is our eternal Light.
