Flonnie B. Dellapia's Obituary
Flonnie Tucker Donald Dellapia was born in Hartwell, Ga., on April 11, 1919, and passed away Monday, Sept. 21, 2009. She was the daughter of Robert Oscar and Hattie Carnes Tucker. She was raised in South Carolina but lived most of her life in Dallas. For the past 18 years, she lived in Fort Smith. Flonnie was a member of Rocky Knoll Baptist in Wallhalla, S.C., and baptized in 1956 with her husband, John Henry Donald, and her oldest son, John H. Donald Jr. Flonnie was employed most of her life and thoroughly enjoyed working for Plastics Manufacturing Company of Dallas. She loved working with her “Plastic” friends. Flonnie is survived by her two sons, John H. Donald Jr. and his wife, Pam of Fort Smith, and Ronnie W. Donald and his wife, Kathy of Dallas. Her grandchildren are Deborah McLain and husband, Steve of Greenwood, John Donald III and wife, Dawn of Bentonville, Gregory Donald and wife, Laurie of Greenwood, Karen Thurman and husband, Tracy of Stephenville, Texas, and Shannon Donald of Euless, Texas. Flonnie is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, Whitney McLain, Magen Donald, John Wesley Donald, Anna Lisa Donald, Jordan Donald and Haley Donald, all of Arkansas, and Marshal Underwood and Hanna Underwood of Texas. She is also survived by her half brother, Homer Tucker of Belton, S.C.; many nephews and nieces of South Carolina and Georgia; and in-laws of Bronx, N.Y. Flonnie was preceded in death by her first husband, John H. Donald, and second husband, Frank H. Dellapia. Flonnie was a loving mother and grandmother and the memory of her sweet and joyful spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and loved ones. The family of Flonnie Donald Dellapia would like to express their gratitude to the Palliative Care Unit of Peachtree Hospice for all they did for our beloved Flonnie during her transition. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, September 24, 2009 at Fentress Mortuary, 1805 N. A St. in Fort Smith, AR; with interment at 3:00 pm, Friday, September 25, 2009 Restland Memorial Park in Dallas.
