Florence Joyce Lane's Obituary
LANE, FLORENCE JOYCE passed away at the age of 96 in a Mesquite, Texas nursing facility on February 19. She lived and raised her family in Roswell, New Mexico until retirement. She then moved to the Rockwall area to enjoy her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joyce was born in Harcourt, Victoria Australia on December 18, 1916. She was the older sister of Winsome Esnouf. During her childhood the two sisters were taken to school by horse and buggy. She married Joseph John Lane after they met during World War II where he was stationed in Brisbane, Australia. After the war, they moved to Columbus, Ohio and eventually made their home in Roswell, New Mexico. She worked at the New Mexico Rehabilitation Center and held a position as the purchasing director. She was a very active member at St.Thomas Episcopal in Roswell, New Mexico. Until her death, Joyce continued to worship at Transformation Anglican Church in Rockwall, Texas. She was actively involved for 13 years leading childrens’ grief recovery groups with My Guardian Angels. Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph John Lane. She is survived by her children, Anthony Lane and Ann Kittrell and her husband, Bill. She has four grandchildren, Jamie Trollinger of Aurora, Colorado, Justin Lane and his wife, Ashly of Lucas, Texas, and Emily and Thomas Kittrell of Rockwall, Texas. Joyce has six great grandchildren, Chris Bohnhoff of Aurora, Colorado, Josh Trollinger of Aurora, Colorado and Madison, Bryce, Morgan and Meghan Lane of Lucas, Texas. Memorial service for Joyce will be held Thursday, February 28 at 11:00 AM at Restland Memorial Chapel, 13005 Greenville Avenue in Dallas Texas. The Reverend Don McLane will be officiating the service. The family will be receiving friends after the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Transformation Anglican Church Building Fund at 663 Justin Road, Rockwall, Texas 75087.
