It is with great sadness that the family of Florence “Flo” Pebworth announces her passing on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at the age of 98. Her family and a multitude of friends and neighbors that she considered family will remember her Read Obituary
Flo was a timeless fixture in our neighborhood. She knew the history of the houses on our street and would share happy memories of the families who had lived in them. She left a legacy for us by starting a simple neighborhood breakfast outing each week with everyone invited. She truly lived "Love thy neighbor as thyself". We will miss her terribly but glad to know she is already spreading joy in heaven.
Our family first started attending Kessler Park Baptist Church around 2010. Flo was one of the first to give us a warm welcome there. Her smiling face and happy spirit was always a beautiful sight to see every time we went to church. She and her family made it an extra joy to go to church at Kessler Park with thier welcoming smiles and hugs. She will be greatly missed. I had the honor to meet Ms. Flo at the Oak Cliff Breakfast Club. Upon first meeting her I felt an aura of Unconditional Love for everyone. We immediately became close friends. I wished that the world could follow her acceptance of others. You will be missed. ❤️
My first memory of Flo was the day we moved in to our home across the street. I was talking to my new neighbor Carlos when this sprightly young woman came literally hop skipping over to introduce herself. She made me feel so welcome to our new neighborhood. Almost everyone on our street went out to breakfast together every Saturday and Flo never missed one. I would often go over to have tea with her in the afternoon and she would laugh and say I don’t drink tea but I can make you a coffee! We spent many a delightful afternoon sharing our life stories and experiences. Even after I was long gone from the street Flo remembered me and I her. I am so delighted to have known Flo as a friend. Kevin and I will cherish our memories of Flo. May her soul rest in peace.
It’s hard to remember a time in my life that there wasn’t a Flo. Our families were linked by church and friendship and were lifelong. I’ll miss our conversations and the laughter. She is now home and surrounded by her Lord, her beloved husband, Fred, and friends.
