Florence Elizabeth Rogers' Obituary
Florence Elizabeth Brown Rogers was born July 1, 1921, in Happy, Texas. She grew up in Dallas and graduated from Crozier Tech High School. She served in the U.S. Navy as part of the Waves during World War II in Norfolk, VA. On March 16, 1947, she married Thomas E. Rogers of Leonard, TX. They were married 64 years. They raised their two children in Dallas, Texas where they were active members of Cochran Chapel United Methodist Church. They spent the past 25 years at Hideaway Lake. During that time, they have been actively involved at First United Methodist Church of Lindale. Florence Rogers is survived by her husband Thomas E. “Gene” Rogers and two children Michael E. Rogers and Anita Bailey. She had five grandchildren Allison Rogers, Thomas Rogers, William Bailey, Jeffrey Bailey, and Julie Bailey. She also had two great-grandchildren. She will be missed by many friends and family. Visitation will be held at Restland Wildwood Chapel, on Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at 11:30, followed by funeral services and burial at 12:30 in the Restland Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held at 1st United Methodist Church of Lindale on Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at 10:00 A.M.
