Ms. Florence Emily Whiting's Obituary
Passed away July 29, 2007 in Carrollton, Texas after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born November 12, 1920 in Baltimore, Maryland to Neils H. Debel and Lydia Emily Debel; She grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota with her parents and three brothers Robert, Charles and Frederick Debel. She graduated from the University of Minnesota and married the love of her life, Neil William Whiting in 1946. She moved with her family to Richardson, Texas in 1955 where she was along- time member of the Richardson Women’s Club and a founding member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Richardson where she attended until she was incapacitated. She was an avid duplicate bridge player, a painter, a pianist, and a wonderful wife and mother whose love, kindness and sense of humor will live on in our hearts forever. We are heartened by the knowledge she is now enjoying life with her Heavenly Father, along with her parents, brothers, husband and many friends; playing duplicate bridge, painting water colors and playing the piano. She is survived by her three sons; Richard Whiting of San Antonio, Robert Whiting of Carrollton, and Brian Whiting of Garland, Texas; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way.
