Florence Wortman's Obituary
Florence Wortman, a longtime resident of Dallas, passed away on July 15, 2016. She was born on June 22, 1931 to Torney Alexander and Charlotta Belle (Wilson) Baumgartner in Alma, Texas. After retiring from the American Wholesale Florist business as Vice President and Secretary Treasurer, Florence enjoyed a busy and full life. She and her husband loved to travel and spend time at their house at Lake Texoma. She also enjoyed hosting friends and family at her Dallas home and doting on her much-loved Siamese cat, Mr. Chan. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Isabel Owen, Rene Miller and Katherine McJunkins, and one brother, Torney Alexander, Jr. She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, James O. Wortman; daughter Donna; son Mike; and two grandchildren, Michelle Wortman and Max Schanbaum. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her last few months. Florence requested a small private funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA of Dallas. Arrangements were provided by Restland Funeral Home.
