Florice Morris' Obituary
Mrs. Florice Morris (Gran), daughter of the late Archie Neal and Essie Mae Oler Neal was born October 1, 1933 in Raines County, Texas. Florice is one of eleven brothers and sisters. She attended the public schools in Lone Oak, Texas. In 1949 she moved to Dallas, Texas and worked as an operator for Bell Telephone. Florice was married in May, 1951 to James Clay Jones and they had four children. She was a stay at home mom and enjoyed raising her children. Florice was married to Luther Morris in 1994 and she and Luther had a custom trim shop for many years until they retired. She was preceded in death by Luther who passed away in January, 1999. Florice was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren in competition. She was always available and supportive to all of her family. She loved interacting with the great grandchildren which brought her great joy. Mrs. Morris was an active member of the Landmark Church of Christ in Kaufman, Texas. She loved her church family and the Lord. She was loved by many and was always willing to lend a hand. Florice has had an ongoing battle with heart issues and was taken by the Lord on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at her home in Scurry, Texas. She was preceded in death by her son, James Clay Jones, Jr. and her brothers Troy Neal and Joe Neal, sisters Martha Pennington and Christine Parks. She is survived by her brothers Don Neal and wife, Jonnie, Smith Neal and sisters Leta Dixson, Reta Jones, Patsy Greene and husband, Terry and Genita Dalby and husband Dickie and many nephews and nieces. Her wonderful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Jennifer Jones, Shirley Teurman and husband Jeff, Chuck Jones and wife Mary. Grandchildren: Cala Coats and husband, Bill Hamel, Jana Freeman and husband, Floyd, David Foster, Melissa Jones and husband Brad, and Michelle Forsman and husband Nathan. Great grandchildren: Brayden, Austin and Colby Freeman, Ben and Rose Hamel and Cheyenne Forsman. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 6-8 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 2:30 PM in the Memorial Chapel at Restland. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted into Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243.
