Floy Marie Marcell's Obituary
Marcell,Floy Marie Shelton Died peacefully on October 15, 2008, just two weeks from her 90th birthday. Her adult life was spent loving her husband of 53 years, Marvin B. Marcell, Sr. who preceded her in death in 1993. She was blessed with four children, 11 grandchildren, and 3 great- grandchildren to whom she was devoted. As matriarch of this loving family she was an inspiration and a treasure to her family who enjoyed the blessing of her abundant wit and wisdom. Floy was born in the Weiland Community, Hunt County, Texas on November 3, 1918 to Grover C. Shelton and Eula Weatherford Shelton. She was a 1935 graduate of Lone Oak High School where she also lettered in varsity basketball. After graduation, Floy moved to Dallas where she met and married Marvin Sr., the love of her life, on June 6th of 1940. She leaves behind her daughter, Judy Marcum and husband, Jim, of Richardson; sons, Edward and wife, Debra, of Duncanville, TX, David and wife, Wanda, of The Woodlands, TX and son, Marvin B. Marcell, Jr., and wife, Debbie of Sugarland, TX. An active member of the Buckingham Road Church of Christ and a long-time Richardson resident, Floy’s legacy of love, hard work and giving to others will now be lived through the lives of the family and friends she leaves behind. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00PM, Saturday, October 18, 2008 at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 19, 2008 in Restland Wildwood Chapel.
