Floyd Carroll Elkinton's Obituary
Born Dec. 27, 1917 in Orange, Texas. Died Oct. 3, 2008. At one month of age, he moved to Prairie View, Kansas where he spent his early years. He attended South School in Houston, Texas, then attended Fort Hays University where he received his A.B. Degree. Following graduation, he was employed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. After 9 1/2 years he joined Sinclair Oil and Gas as Security Agent and later became Head of Security for Atlantic Richfield. He retired in 1985. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie DeYoung Elkinton to whom he was married for 66 years. They are the parents of three children: Carole and Allen Ray, Rozlyn Mollet, and Roger and Ricki Elkinton. He is preceded in death by son-in-law, Steve Mollet. Floyd is survived by 7 grandchildren, Greg and wife Riene, Gerald and Jamie Moody, Tamitha Ray, Robert and Michelle Moody, Melissa and Greg Curry; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was an active member of Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church for 39 years, where he served as an elder.
