Floyd Mayfield Jr.'s Obituary
MAYFIELD, JR., FLOYD was born on May 12,1939 in Alamo, Tennessee and passed away on August 25, 2012, at the age of 73 in Mesquite, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1965. After retiring from the Racine, Wisconsin Police Department in 1984, he became a salesman for Bledsoe Dodge of Dallas. Then Floyd worked for The City of Mesquite as a MTED driver. Before he passed he was working as a security guard at the Dallas Meyerson. Floyd was a member of First United Methodist Church of Mesquite. He was preceded in death by parents, Floyd Sr. and Jenny Mayfield. Floyd is survived by his wife of 42 years, Opal; son, Mark Mayfield (Jesusita; step daughters, Ruby Gray of Garland, TX., Jewel George (Montique) of Wildwood, Mo., Pamela Wells (Theo) of Arlington, TX.; several grandchildren; sisters, Floydie Stewart (Robert),and Barbara Whitnall (Bill); numerous nieces, nephews and relatives all of Racine, Wisconsin. Visitation will be on Friday, August 31st from 6-8 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be held Saturday, September 1st at 12:00 PM at Restland Abbey Chapel. Interment to follow at Restland Memorial Park.
