Floyd Willson "Bill" Worth II's Obituary
Floyd Willson “Bill” Worth II, 72, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026, surrounded by those who loved him most.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Worth as well as his sons, Daniel Worth and Brian Worth. Daniel and his wife, Christina, blessed Bill with the joy of becoming a grandfather to Isabella, whose bright, cheerful nature brought him immense pride and happiness.
Through his marriage to Nancy, Bill lovingly embraced a blended family that became one united by love. He is also survived by Nancy’s children: Krista Hill, Joseph Rankin, and Nathan Rankin. Krista brought three beautiful children into the family: Prestyn, Pryce, and Duke, who added immeasurable joy to Bill’s later years.
He was preceded in death by his brother, John; his parents, Bud and Mary; and his wife, Jeanne. Bill and Jeanne grew up neighboring each other in Cedar Rapids. They reunited after college, rekindling a friendship that grew into love and devotion that lasted decades.
Bill shared ten wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Nancy. Together they built a life filled with laughter, devotion, and steadfast love. In Nancy, Bill found a partner who brought tremendous joy and light to his life. Their love was evident to anyone, and everyone, who knew them. Their unity was marked by devoted companionship and an unshakable bond. They were truly best friends, rarely apart, and their marriage was a beautiful testament to the deep connection that can be found later in life.
Becoming “Papa Bill” was one of the greatest blessings of his life. He adored his four grandchildren and treasured the time spent with each of them. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and steadiness, and the bonds he formed with them will forever remain a part of who they are.
Bill was born in Odebolt, Iowa, and later moved with his family to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He graduated from the University of Iowa in 1975 with four degrees in Business, Finance, Economics, and Marketing.
In 1977, Bill moved to Dallas, Texas, beginning his professional career with Rockwell International as a Business Systems Analyst. He later worked for E-Systems as a Contract Administrator and for ElectroCom Automation as Manager of Program Automation. At Siemens, Bill guided his department as Director of Business Strategy, Analysis, and Consulting, where, after a distinguished career, he retired having built an enduring legacy that will be remembered by colleagues who were fortunate to work with him. His time at Siemens afforded him the opportunity to experience many of the world’s cultures, leaving an indelible affinity for fine food and wine.
In his younger years, Bill enjoyed family trips to Myrtle Beach, where he and his sons made lasting memories together. He cherished coaching the sports his sons played. He never let a long workday stop him from showing up to practice, occasionally still draped his business attire. He was an avid golfer and loved traveling with close friends and colleagues to play some of the world’s most renowned courses, including unforgettable rounds at the Old Course at St. Andrews in Scotland.
Bill was a voracious reader who began each morning with a cup of coffee and The Dallas Morning News. He had a deep love for history and was endlessly curious about the world around him. He never stopped learning, always seeking to expand his knowledge and understanding. Brilliant and thoughtful, he was often the one family and friends turned to for wisdom, perspective, and steady guidance.
He will be remembered for his contagious laughter, his booming voice, his unwavering devotion to his family, and the way he loved completely and unconditionally. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for those he loved. His brilliance, humor, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
His memory will live on in our hearts, and he will never, ever be forgotten. All are warmly invited to join us for a viewing on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., as we come together to remember, honor, and celebrate Bill’s life
