Frances Eva Baker's Obituary
BAKER, FRANCES EVA (SWINDELL) Born July 25,1927 in Wolfe City, Texas and passed away May 2nd, 2011 in Mesquite, Texas. Preceded in death by parents Evelyn Workman Swindell and Horace Swindell; sisters, Doris Garland, Sandra Ashby and brother Jack Swindell. Survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Bobby Ray Baker, her five sons – Chuck Barnes (Lois), Mike Barnes, Stephen Baker (Carol), Ralph Baker and Brad Baker (Holly); her grandchildren- Allison Vieger (Taylor), Bryan Baker (Hilary), Clark Baker, Gregory Baker, Amanda Baker, Jessica Baker, Billy Barnes, Christopher Barnes, Melissa Lance (Sam), Faye Davis, Kevin Barnes (Rebecca), Erin Massengil (Gene) and 15 great grandchildren. Survived by her sister Frankie Welch and brothers, Harold Swindell (Mary) and Grady Swindell and many nieces and nephews. Frances was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a member of Centerpoint Church and greatly enjoyed the fellowship there. She doted on her children and grandchildren, enjoyed traveling and was an excellent cook, specializing in cookies, cakes and pies. Frances’ warmth, humor and encouraging spirit will be missed greatly by all who knew her. Frances wrote this quote and kept it in her Bible: ” I cannot turn back, for I have entered into an irrevocable contract with God. I have committed my life to Jesus Christ and He has given me eternal life.” In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Centerpoint Church, P O Box 851799 Mesquite, Texas, 75185. Service will be held at 10:00AM, Friday, May 6, 2011 at Restland Memorial Chapel with visitation from 6:00-8:00PM, Thursday at Restland Funeral Home.
