Frances Gillett Balthrop Thompson's Obituary
Frances Katherine Gillett was born on May 22, 1925 in Abilene, Texas to R.A. Gillett, Sr. and Carrie Boss Gillett and went to be with her Savior on October 8, 2013. Frances was married for over 30 years to Ralph E. Balthrop, Sr. until his death in 1974. Some time later she married Curtis O. Thompson and was married to him for over 25 years until his death in 2001. If you wanted to have a good time, you wanted to have Frances around. She liked to laugh and enjoyed being with people. She was the happiest when with friends and family. As Randall said, “if it wasn’t a party, she would make it one.” Frances was the mother of 3 children, Ralph Earl Balthrop, Jr., Karen Partain Robison and Randall Scott Balthrop. Her grandchildren number 10 and her great-grandchildren number 13. She is also survived by her brother, Frank Gillett. She was preceded in death by both her parents; both husbands; her sister, Dorothy Stewart and brother, Robert Gillett, Jr. The family welcomes you to visit with them on Thursday night at 7:00 P.M. at Restland Funeral Home at 13005 Greenville Avenue Dallas, TX 75243. Frances’ service will be at Lake Highlands Baptist Church 642 Brookhurst Dr. Dallas, TX 75218 at 10:30 AM on Friday October 11, 2013. There will be no graveside service. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the Alzheimer’s Association. Perhaps you can help to end this dreadful disease that strikes so many of our elderly.
