Frances "Cam" Cooper's Obituary
Frances Camalou “Cam” Cooper (Hubbard) went home to our Heavenly Father on December 2, 2020 at the age of 97.
Cam is survived by daughters Cathy Kent and husband, Danny, of Garland, and Danna Sanders and husband, Stan, of Royse City; three grandsons, Justin Atterbury, Dustin Kent, and Derek Kent; and six great-grandchildren, Kylie, Kaitlyn, Juliette, Kadyn, Tessa, and Cooper. She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond F. Cooper; parents, Floyd and Cora Hubbard; and siblings Bob, R.C., Foyl, and Geraldine.
Cam was born on March 4, 1923 in Hartshorne, Oklahoma to Floyd and Cora Hubbard. She graduated from Hartshorne High School and attended Eastern Oklahoma College. She married Ray on December 15, 1945 after he returned from service in the United States Air Force during World War II. Over the next several years, the couple welcomed their two daughters into their home and set about raising the girls in a warm, caring, Christian home. Cam’s family remembers her as a wonderful cook and homemaker.
Cam was accomplished at art, poetry, and sewing and shared her love of these things with her children and grandchildren. She was a devoted individual who loved her family and who was passionate about helping others. Cam and Ray were active and dedicated members of Monica Park Christian Church in Garland where Cam sang in the choir and was a member of the Christian Women’s Fellowship. They both also volunteered as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Dallas.
A family service is scheduled at Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery. Eddie Hill, Pastor at Monica Park, will officiate the service. The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Grand Brook Garland and Anchor of Hope Hospice for their love and wonderful care.
