Frances Cisek Daugherty's Obituary
Frances Cisek Daugherty, 97, was called home to God on September 2, 2018, in Ft. Worth, Texas.Frances Cisek Daugherty was born in Toledo, Ohio, on April 7, 1921, to Sebastian Frank Cisek and Bertha Sadowski. She was only 3 pounds and was walked miles in the snow to be blessed in a church. Frances spent the next 97 years blessing the lives of everyone who knew her. She was a spirited and talented young lady who loved the arts and singing, and she proudly played the lead in her school play. Her thirst for adventure and service led her to join the Women’s Army Corp. (WAC) on August 5, 1943. Some of her greatest memories were of her time in the service where she met and fell in love with her beloved Hubert Wilson Daugherty. They were married while on active duty on July 19, 1944, at Claxton Hall near Speaker’s Corner in Hyde Park, London, England, even as bombs were going off! It was just the start of their exciting life together. They soon started their family with the births of Suzanne Joyce, William Thomas, and Gary Don Daugherty. After their third child was born, they moved to Japan for four years before returning to Texas in 1953. Frances devoted her life to raising her family and lived every day to its fullest. She loved to sing, dance, paint, read, and learn new things. She had a passion for the water and even did water aerobics into her 90’s! Frances was the most positive and kind-hearted woman, who never met a stranger and never let you down. She never ever complained or asked for a thing, but she gave everyone all she had to give. You never saw Frances without a smile on her face. She lit up every room and every life she entered. Her legacy will follow her, and she will be dearly missed.Frances was preceded in death by her loving husband Hubert Wilson Daugherty, and son, William Thomas Daugherty.
