I talk about Mrs Estes often. She was my favorite teacher and when my kids started second grade, I told them many stories about her. Think of her every time the song Vincent by Don McLean comes on the radio (she played it for us when we were learning about Vincent Van Gogh. I would have been in her class in 1977. She’s fondly remembered.
Frances has been a dear friend since we met at a Stacy English horn seminar in 1990. Her support and encouragement over the years helped me gain confidence and become the professional player that I was. She always had a smile and inspiring story to share and we kept in touch until February of 2021. I was fortunate to visit Ed and Frances several times when I was on business trips to Dallas. We'd recently exchanged cat calendars and she sent me a book Stillness Speaks which I'll always treasure. Her love and warmth will guide me forever. Her Stacy seminar cat survey was a highlight each year.
You are always in my heart and I'll miss you and our phone calls very much, Frances. Keep playing and caring for cats on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. We all love you so much.
Frances was one of the kindest people I've ever known. We became friends through Tom Stacy's English horn seminars and learned early on that we shared a great love for cats.
I know that her family and her innumerable friends are remembering her as a person who spread joy everywhere she went.
