Before moving to Arlington from Dallas, she was a member of Faith Bible Church in Oak Cliff. She was a lifetime member of the Oak Cliff Gem and Mineral Society, Arlington Gem and Mineral Club, and the Gemological Institute of America from which she graduated as a certified gemologist. Among her favorite things to do was attend gem shows and she was a fixture at local gem shows identifying different types of gems and stones for fellow rock hounds. Her life was lived among friends, whom she talked about lovingly and without ceasing.
