Frances Parks Mason's Obituary
Frances Mason passed away peacefully in Dallas, Texas one week after her 102nd birthday.
She was born in Mt. Sterling Illinois, the second of four children of Russell and Mary Parks.
Fran's first job in Chicago was as the first female secretary to the head of Burlington Railroad, as the
men were serving in WW11.
Fran met her husband, John Mason, in Chicago, where he was a consultant with an international company.
They had two daughters, Tami and Betsy. Fran and John and their daughters lived an interesting life,
living in many countries for John's work, including Iran, Germany, Italy, England, Korea, and Brazil.
After settling in Dallas, Fran taught needlepoint at the Olla Podrida for several years.
Fran was preceded in death by her husband John. Fran is survived by her daughters, Tami Mason and
Betsy Piano, her son-in-law George Piano, and her grandsons Josh Piano and Jesse Piano, and his wife Sarah.
Fran will be missed by the family she adored. She will be remembered for her amazing love and support
dragging her family all around the world, her love for her two grandsons, her beautiful needle point, her
sense of humor, and her love of chocolate. We will miss her forever.
The family greatly appreciates the care Fran received at The Tradition Assisted Living.
A family celebration service to remember a wonderful life will be held in June.
