Frances Louise Massey Baze's Obituary
Frances Louise Massey Baze, age 87, of Denton, Texas passed away on December 4, 2011 at home. She was born on December 20, 1923 in Midlothian, Texas to parents Otis and Beulah (Price) Massey, the seventh of 10 children. Her family moved to Friona in the Texas panhandle when she was two. In high school, she and her youngest sister starred on the girl’s basketball team, competing at state. After graduating from high school in Friona, she attended business college in Lubbock before taking a job with North American Aviation in Dallas early in World War II. She remained a resident of Dallas for most of her life, eventually retiring from a long career with Southwestern Bell Telephone. She had 2 children with her first husband, a son, Kenneth, who preceded her in death as a child, and her beloved daughter, Deborah. She was also preceded in death by her parents and eight of her siblings. Frances will be fondly remembered by her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Richard Rogstad of Denton. Her sole surviving brother, Marvin Massey of Sundance, Wyoming, extended family, and friends old and new will miss her honest friendship and the quiet dignity that was her gift to the world. She cherished that same honesty in her little dogs, faithful companions for many years. They were what kept her alive and vital almost to the very end. Duffy, her last, survives her, and is today providing that honest love to yet one more human. In her time, she loved to dance. Age took that from her. But now she is free to dance again. Dance lightly and joyfully, Frances. She will be laid to rest at Restland Cemetery in Dallas near her son at 1:00pm on Thursday the 15th of December. Relatives and friends are invited to share with us a simple graveside service. Because she so cherished her canine companions, donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Kennel Club Canine Health Foundation. http://www.akcchf.org/
