Frances Pamelia "Pam" King's Obituary
King, Frances, Pamelia (Pam), age 100, of Garland, TX, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2011 at her home in Garland, TX. She was born on March 25, 1911 in Tyler, TX, to her parents, Frank and Alma Marsh. Pam was the oldest of 4. She married Oscar L. King in Dallas, TX, on August 12, 1929. They had 3 children. She attended Sunset High School and Draughons Business School. She was a longtime resident of Garland, TX. Pam was a member of First Christian Church of Rowlett, TX. She enjoyed playing the organ in church, fishing , cooking, traveling and being around family. Pam will be remembered by her loving children Linda Christopher and Betty Ashby of Garland, TX, and Bob King of Quitman, TX. She is also survived by her sister Vivian Nelms of Garland, TX, 6 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Pam was predeceased in death by her husband Oscar King, grandson, Christ Christopher, brother, Harold Marsh, and sister, Sarah Hanes. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 2nd at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 3rd in Restland Wildwood Chapel. In lieu of flowers , family request donation be made to Shriner Hospital or American Cancer Society.
