Our Grandma Frances Tidwell was an amazing Grandma. It wasn’t just that she was a wonderful cook or that she knew how to tell good bedtime stories. Sure, she was great at those things – but she could do so much more. Our Grandma knew how to really play. Whatever it was that we wanted to do, make mud pies, play “Miss America”, play “gas station” with our bikes and Big Wheels – she didn’t just watch as we played. She played with us. And she made every game even more fun. Grandma was a rare combination of loving grandmother and teacher. Even when you thought you were just having fun at her house, there was a lesson involved. She helped us learn to cook, clean, and how to take care of ourselves. It wasn’t that she spoiled us – she just made us feel special. Visits to her house were planned for weeks in advance. And while we were there, she let us eat on trays in front of her television. She stayed up late with us talking, laughing and telling stories. She made our favorite desserts. She made our visits feel more like a vacation! We will miss you, Grandma, and we will always love you. Your loving grandchildren and great grandchildren
