Frances Gail Wall's Obituary
WALL, Frances ”Gail”, age 76, of Grand Prairie, Texas passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, January 29, 2020. She was a 1962 graduate of McKinney High School and received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from East Texas State University in Commerce, Texas. Her heart and passion in life was for every child to experience the joy of opening their imagination to the wonders of reading and storytelling. She always made sure that every child she met received a book from her. Gail was integral in helping to develop reading programs as a Reading Strategist in Dallas ISD and Grand Prairie ISD for over 30 years. Against the advice of her friend, she married Bill “Wild Bill” Osa Wall on August 24, 1968. Gail loved children more than anything and for her, there was nothing on this earth more precious than children. In 1978, her dream of being a mom came true through adoption. And from that day forth, she began the journey of becoming “Mother of the Century” . . . and slowly draining her husband’s bank account by giving her children “money under the table” for the next 42 years. It’s widely thought that her decision to adopt came with one goal in mind, to have and spoil grandchildren of her own. With Gail, there wasn’t a rule you could break or a request she would deny. If she loved you, she loved you for who you were. Everyone who met her walked away with a friend and a confidant. If there is one thing our family can cherish and find peace in, it’s that she is now loving on our Lord and Savior the way she loved us in this life. Her contagious joy, loving embrace and gentle nature will forever be missed.
Gail is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bill Wall; son, Austin and wife, Jessica of Arlington; son, Calen of Grand Prairie; and of course, her most precious gifts grandson, Shane and granddaughter, Neely Jo; sister, Betty Nitcholas of Georgetown and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Ethol Thurman Britton and mother, Jessie Jewel Britton; sister Ruby Scott of Austin and sister, Linda Britton of McKinney.
