Francille Wright Hooten's Obituary
Francille Wright Hooten was born in Kansas on June 7, 1938, she passed away in Dallas on October 9, 2018 with her family by her side. She is survived by her husband, William Hooten with whom she shared 58 wonderful years of marriage, her daughter Kimberly Hooten-Bond and husband Robert Bond of Flower Mound, their children William Colby and Meghan Marcille Bond, her daughter Amy Hooten Johnson and husband James Johnson of St. Louis, and their children Jackson Nash and Jamey Elisabeth Johnson, and many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lucille Wright, and her siblings Martha Mae Richard and John Frank Wright, Jr.Fran was raised in Urbandale and attended Woodrow Wilson High School, class of 1956. She then attended University of North Texas where she received her teaching degree. It was at North Texas that she happened to walk across the street one day and tripped. The handsome young man who quickly came to her aid would later become her husband. Bill and Fran were married in Vickery Methodist Church on January 29,1960.Fran enjoyed many years teaching, first in Dallas in 1963 and then in Richardson in 1973 at Heights and Richland Elementary and then Ace Academy as a reading specialist. She taught several grades including first and third but found her passion teaching special education. She loved both teaching and the teachers she worked with, and made many special friendships.Fran and her husband Bill spent many, many weekends on their motorcycle traveling the country. She was always a willing participant, enjoying the scenery sitting behind her husband. A favorite pastime was taking trips with friends to the Hill Country to take in the wildflowers.In retirement she enjoyed visits to the Arboretum with her best friend Sharon, the daily crossword puzzle, and reading. She delighted in bus trips with Bill to Arizona, Nevada, Tennessee and Missouri. Her most favorite time was being Grandmama with her four grandchildren. She truly treasured her time with Colby, Meghan, Jack and Jamey and was so proud of each one of them and their accomplishments.Mom, you were the sweetest, most optimistic person who saw the good in everyone. We will miss your smile and laughter and, most importantly, the care you showed to your family. We love you.Visitation will be held 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm October 11, 2018, at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on October 12, 2018, at 10:00 am at the beautiful Wildwood Chapel at Restland Memorial Park.
