Francis Brooke Matthews Hooper's Obituary
On December 25, 2020, the world lost a remarkable, enthusiastic, humorous, smart, loving, caring and thoughtful gentleman.
Francis Brooke Matthews Hooper passed away peacefully Christmas Night in Dallas TX. He was preceded in death by his wife Rhonda Lee Hooper, parents Timothy J Hooper and Anne Matthews Hooper, and elder brother Timothy J Hooper III. Surviving family are his younger brother James Brent Hooper and wife Rosalie, nephews Timothy J Hooper IV and wife Liesl, James Brent Hooper Jr and wife Amanda, niece Anne Matthews Hooper, great-nephew Luke, life partner Anne Wehler, and cousins by the dozens too numerous to list.
His early life was spent in Maryland where his proud heritage began in 1662 when his ancestral home "The Hermitage" was platted. Brooke attended Loyola HIgh School and the University of Maryland where he pursued a degree in Economics. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity at which he incorporated the principles of friendship, sound learning and rectitude into his life. Its motto "Become the greatest version of yourself" centered his entire life and career managing container and packaging sales. Through the twists and turns of life's path he remained steadfast in providing the best service to his clients and utmost dedication to his family. Sales gave him his most enjoyable hobby---Travel. Before the Zoom era and video chatting many sales encounters were face to face providing the opportunity to wine, dine, and work out deals in a personal manner. During his career Brooke was able to visit 48 states, Mexico, Canada, the Caribbean, Europe and Maui HI--his vacation home. He was pleased to attain American Airlines Executive Platinum 2 million mile status and enjoyed the perks of the Admirals Club. His life was full after retirement and he and Anne planned more adventures in the future. Sadly, it was not to be; his last trip was earlier than expected. He departed Christmas Night on his final flight from this earthly realm.
Bon Voyage Brooke!
You are Dearly Loved and will be Greatly Missed,
Your Loving Family
Brooke will be laid to rest near his wife Rhonda at Restland Cemetery in Dallas TX
