Francis L. Reed's Obituary
REED, FRANCIS LAVERNE “FRANK”, was born in Dallas, TX April 26, 1924. He was raised and educated in Dallas, graduating from Woodrow Wilson and SMU. At SMU Frank was a member of the “Mustang Men”. Frank loved and cared for everyone he met. He was an active member of Delta Sigma Phi fraternity and later became a 32nd degree mason and shriner. Frank served his counrty in WWII and was in the “Greatest Generation”. Frank owned his own insurance business in Sherman and Frank Reed Realty in Houston and Dallas, Texas. Frank met the love of his life while at SMU and married Eloise Cooper June 30, 1955. Together they raised two beautiful daughers, Cheryl and Stacia, also survived by his sister, Margaret Akers and family of Fort Worth, sister-in-laws Mrs. Dale R. Reed, Mrs. J. B. Cooper, and Mrs. James R. Ellis and families. Frank was very active in the community and a long time member of Highland Park United Methodist Church. He loved and adored his grandsons, Nicholas and Christopher Geiger. Frank was a “Native Son” of Texas, of which he was fiercely proud. All of his family and friends will miss his enthusiasm and can do attitude. We love you Daddy! You’re the best!
