Frank L. Baum Jr.'s Obituary
Frank L. Baum, Jr passed away on July 26, 2023 at the age of 94 in Keller, Texas. He passed away peacefully with his family around him.
Frank was born on November 29, 1928 in Springfield MO to Frank Sr. and Marie Baum. After graduating from Pleasant Hope High School MO in 1947 he briefly worked as a surveyor before joining the United States Air Force in January 1951. He married the love of his life, Pauline Swillum, in December of 1951 and began a beautiful life journey till her death in 1991. After an Honorable Discharge from the Air Force in 1955 he attended college at the Missouri School of Mines in Rolla MO graduating in 1959 with a BSEE. After graduating he began a long career as an Electrical Engineer/Program Manager with Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids IA. Soon after that they transferred to Richardson, Texas with Collins Radio and worked on many international communications projects around the world including France, 3yrs in Australia, and multiple projects in the Middle East. Upon retirement in 1987, Frank enjoyed many years of travels around the US in his RV and enjoying many joyous occasions with his family including many great times with his grandkids. He loved traveling and spending time with his family. He was a great adventurer and visionary and was a kind and generous person his whole life.
He is survived by his son, Steve Baum, and his family, wife Kari, and daughter, Ashley; son, Matt, his wife Ann, and their son, Liam; Brother Leo Baum, wife, Shirley, son Mike Baum, daughter Mitzi Kelly. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline and son Ken Baum and sister Virginia.
He leaves a huge hole in the hearts of his family and will be remembered and cherished as the best Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and Brother.
Services will be Tuesday, August 1 with Funeral Mass at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Richardson, Texas at 11:00 AM with burial at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, Tx following mass.
