Frank Joseph Doran's Obituary
Frank Joseph Doran, 74, a life-long resident of Dallas, Texas went peacefully to Heaven on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 22, 2011, while at home and surrounded by family and friends. He was born Nov. 9, 1936 in Dallas to Stanley Raymond and Addie Mae Doran. Frank was the oldest of 2 children. He graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1961. He was a brother of the Kappa Alpha Order. He married the former Judith Ann Redfearn of Port Arthur, Texas in 1959 . They had 2 children. He later married the former Cerelle Sellers of Dallas, Texas in 1974. In his early employment Frank worked at Dr. Pepper, first as the Executive Assistant to the President and later as its Treasurer. He followed as an Executive Producer on “Benji” and other films at Mulberry Square Productions. Frank then became a real estate broker with Remax and continued to be involved in real estate until his passing. Frank attended Wilshire Baptist Church and was an active member and School Captain of the Captains of the Exchange Club of East Dallas where he helped provide school supplies, books, winter coats, computers, and bikes for children at 11 local schools. While he enjoyed reading, fishing and model trains, Frank enjoyed time with friends and family most. Frank will be remembered by his loving fiance, Angela Cardosi of Dallas, Texas. He is survived by his sons, Jason Kenric (45), wife Lisa of McDade, Texas, and Mark Wesley (41), wife Jennifer of Austin, Texas, his four grandchildren, Christopher (25), Addie (14), Jennifer (12), and Wesley (4), and his many close cousins and their children. He is predeceased in death by his parents and sister, Patricia Ann Doran. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation for Frank from 6:00 pm to 8:00 on Wednesday at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, 10:00 at Wilshire Baptist Church, 4316 Abrams Rd., with Pastor Gannon Sims officiating. Burial will follow at Restland Memorial Park. Special thanks to Lisa Young, RN, who provided much of his care at home.
