Mr. Frank Balie Finks' Obituary
Frank Balie Finks passed away peacefully surrounded by his family the morning of January 14th. Frank was born January 6, 1938, in Dallas, Texas to John Balie Finks, Jr. and Frances Jacobs Finks. After graduating from Highland Park High School, Frank went on to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of North Texas as a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. While at North Texas, Frank met and married Janice Ann Wade in 1959. Remaining in Dallas for all 64 years of their marriage, Frank enjoyed a successful career in sales, including founding his own business printing distributorship that was ultimately acquired by a national firm. Frank dearly loved his family and is survived by his wife Janice, sons Jim (Fran) and Russ (Tina), and daughter Leanne (Brock); 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Frank never met a lure he wouldn’t cast, a soccer game he wouldn’t watch, a Willie Nelson song he wouldn’t harmonize to, or a rack of ribs he wouldn’t smoke. He will be missed as a fishing buddy, a dedicated lover of the beautiful game, a pair of Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain, and a first-class pitmaster.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00, January 27th at Restland Funeral Home, Wildwood Chapel (13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Frank to Faith Presbyterian Hospice/Forefront Living (www.forefrontliving.org/giving-opportunities).
