Frank Monroe Foster's Obituary
FOSTER, FRANK MONROE went home to be with his Lord Jesus on Sunday, December 20, 2009 at age 92, at his home in Dallas, TX. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Princess Chancey Foster, who passed away in 1996. Frank was born in Belton, TX on July 22, 1917. Frank and Princess were married on April 21, 1941 at Westminster Presbyterian Church and were members of Westminster the rest of their lives. Frank loved to fish and play golf. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 39 years of faithful service, winning several recognition honors. He then partnered with Hardy Greenwood in the operation of Hardy’s Pitch-n-Putt, a driving range and par -3 course that was located at Lovers Lane and Greenville Avenue in Dallas. He later purchased the driving range and became an inspiration to many young aspiring golfers to whom he taught the skills of golf. One such protege was a then 14-year-old Lee Trevino, who eventually went on tour and became a PGA and U.S. Open champion. Frank was the most loving, kind and generous man. He never said an unkind word to anyone. Every person who was blessed enough to have been given the privilege of knowing him, loved him. His Lord and his family were his life. Frank has three daughters, seven grandchildren and two-great-grandchildren. His first daughter is Gayle Park and her husband, Richard and their four children: daughter Tami Nutt and husband Charles David; daughter Rachel Hudson and her husband, Jerry; son, Derek and his wife, Lesha and their two children: Kennedy and Kason; and son David.
