Frank Gilbert Honeycutt Jr's Obituary
HONEYCUTT JR., FRANK GILBERT was born April 16, 1919 in Red Cross, Louisiana and died Friday, September 13, 2013 in Dallas, Texas at the age of 94. Preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Katherine Schultz Honeycutt; son, John B. Honeycutt; brother, Cyrus Honeycutt; and sister, Louise Honeycutt McKinley. Frank is survived by his wife, Rosellen Arletha Boone Honeycutt; sons, Frank G. Honeycutt, III and wife, Susan of Sacramento, California, Dr. James M. Honeycutt and wife, Elizabeth of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; brother, Seymour Honeycutt and wife Mija of Pala, California; several nieces and one nephew. Frank graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1942 with a BS degree in civil engineering. He served in the Navy Seabees during World War II from 1942 until May of 1946. He began his professional career in 1946 with Forrest and Cotton Consulting Engineers where he worked on many water projects for the next 35 years. Frank headed the team of engineers who developed Dallas Long Range Water Supply Study for water resources in incremental stages to the year 2050. He then joined Graham Associates in 1981 and in 1986 joined Chiang, Patel and Yerby, retiring in 1996. Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Restland Wildwood Chapel.
