Frank John Kormos' Obituary
Frank J. Kormos passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at the age of 101 in his home in Corsicana. Frank was born near Ennis, Texas on November 15, 1914 to Joe and Elizabeth Kormos. He lived in the Corsicana area until he entered the Army in 1941. Frank lived most of the past 50 years in Richardson, Texas and moved back to Corsicana in December 2014 with his daughter. A WWII veteran, Frank served for 33 years in the Army retiring as a Major. He retired from Rockwell International (formerly Collins Radio) at the age of 70 and spent the next 30 years as a volunteer mainly with AARP’s Driver Safety program. In 2014 he was awarded AARP’s most prestigious volunteer tribute for community service, the Texas Andrus award. He was an active member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Richardson and currently attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Corsicana. Frank was an outgoing person who never met a stranger and will be sorely missed by all. Frank is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, the former Lois Fox; his parents Joe and Elizabeth Kormos; brothers Joe, Rudy, Gene, and Louis; sister Irene Lange; and daughter Joyce West. He is survived by his daughter Karen Robinson and son-in-law Teddy of Corsicana, daughter Jeanette Cobb of Spring, son Ron Kormos and daughter-in-law Simona of Richardson, 17 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held at St Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 S. Floyd Rd, Richardson, Texas on Friday, April 22 starting at 7:00pm with a rosary to start at 7:45. Funeral services will be held at St Paul the Apostle Catholic Church Saturday, April 23 at 1:30pm. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
