Frank Charles Lutkus Jr.'s Obituary
Frank Charles Lutkus Jr. Born June 16, 1925 to Dorothy B. and Frank C. Lutkus Sr. in Chicago, IL. Frank was the first of his family to be born in the United States as his parents were Lithuanian immigrants. He was an only child. He joined the Army during World War II and served as a 1st Lt. After the War he graduated from the Art Institute of Chicago. He moved to Dallas and met the love of his life and soul mate, Dorothy Jane Walton. She saw Frank and a friend trying to play tennis with one racquet so she introduced herself and loaned them her racquet. The rest is history. They were married February 14, 1953 and later birthed a son and daughter, Frank Charles Lutkus III, Laurel Elise Lutkus. Frank was an artist retired restaurant designer and a member of Church of Transfiguration Dallas, TX. Frank started out with Norman Brinker developing Steak and Ale Restaurants. He designed Willow Bend Country Club in Plano. He also designed for Fridays Restaurants, Bennigans, Oysters , Spring Creek Barbeque, etc. He owned Lutkus design and was an excellent artist. Frank was preceded in death by his wife in 2013. Survivors include son, Frank Charles Lutkus II and wife, Laurie Anne of Richardson; daughter, Laurel Lutkus Cox and husband, Gary; 3 grandchildren, Gary II, Alexandra and Darby. The visitation for Frank Lutkus Jr. will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Restland Funeral Home. The service for Frank will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at 1:30 PM at Church of Transfiguration. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75238.
