Frankie Cathey's Obituary
Frankie Cathey was born to William and Jessie Cantwell, August 31, 1915, in Sammy Lane, MO, as the oldest of three children. She died May 10, 2012, in Dallas, TX, where she had lived since the early 1940’s. Her husband, Griff Cathey, and her sister, Georgia Cantwell Wallace preceded her in death. A fine art enthusiast, Frankie was a prolific painter, collector, and supporter of the performing arts. She was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Dallas. Survivors are her brother and sister-in-law, Clay and Jean Cantwell; nephews Richard Liggett, Joe Liggett, and Brad Cantwell and nieces, Dixie Liggett Oaks, Sona Sue Liggett, Cathey Siebenlist, Lana Crum, and Lisa Cantwell DeGraaff; 5 grand-nieces, and 4 grand-nephews, and one great-grand niece. A celebration of her life will be observed on Tuesday, May 29th at 2 pm at Abbey Chapel at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Faith Presbyterian Hospice of Dallas, 4350 Sigma Rd, Ste 400, Dallas, TX75244 in memory of Frankie Cantwell Cathey.
