Fred Copeland's Obituary
(Walter) Fred Copeland was born in Honolulu, HI, in 1957 to Charles and Sara Copeland. As the son of an Air Force photographer, his early years were spent in a variety of locations including several years in England. Fred graduated from Boswell High School and attended DeVry Institute where he received a degree in Electronics. He developed expertise in the semiconductor field while working at Texas Instruments and remained in the semiconductor industry until he retired in 2017.
Fred had many hobbies. He met his wife and made many friends while a member of the Texas Instruments scuba club. He dabbled in wood carving, glass blowing, knife making, and collecting antique radios and pocket watches. He loved riding his bicycle, averaging 15 miles/day as recently as 6 months ago.
After a 16-month battle with cancer, Fred passed away on January 16 at Faith Presbyterian Hospice with his loving wife of 37 years, Michelle, by his side. He leaves behind his beloved daughter, Marisa (Jack), the granddaughter he adored, Scarlett, and his fur baby, Murphy Brown He is also survived by his sister Pam and brothers Scott (Allyson) and Charles. He is predeceased by his parents and brother Jimmy.
