Fred was always fun to be with. From the first time meeting him he treated me like a shipmate. I served on the James Madison just after he went to another boat. I will miss our chats and kidding. Fair winds and calm seas brother. God bless.

My deepest condolences to the family. Fred and I went to grade school and high school together. We went to the Navy boot camp together too. I have the greatest memories of our time together. I know Fred loved his family very much. He was just the nicest man. I know he loved his country very much. I think him for his service. God Bless. David Bettis.
From Allan Grissette. When I served on USS Greenfish, '63 - '65, with Fred, he was a Seaman Sonarman, then later 3rd class. He always had a spotless uniform, and as a consequence his "Maneuvering Watch" assignment was the first topside watch when in port. He purchased the captain's, (J W Heman) station wagon, and one time he let me borrow it, with the admonition to "Drive it very carefully". He was a wonderful shipmate.
Fred was my shipmate on USS Greenfish (SS351) home-ported in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, 1963-1965. He was a wonderful shipmate.
