Fred Marsden's Obituary
Fred Marsden, age 64, passed away on September 2, 2019. The son of the late Norman and Jean Marsden was born on September 15, 1954. Fred is survived by his former wife of 30 years, Dawn Marsden. Although divorced, contrary to typical social norms, they continued to enjoy mutual family ties and remained close friends throughout his life. Fred is also survived by his sister, Jari (Richard) Gropp and her children William Kane, Jeana Kane and Greg Bienz, nephews, Khris Lord, Brian Lord, Ryan Miller and niece, Kelly Murakami. Fred also was blessed with a host of loving extended family and friends. Fred has been an employee of the Boeing Company for 10 years, currently as Sales Director for Texas and Oklahoma. An avid OSU, Chicago Bears and Cubs fan for years, he was blessed with a dry comic wit and could tell a tale like no one else – somewhat embellished and sure to be repeated many times over the years. We never grew tired of them. He was a straight talker and you could depend on him to cut to the chase and tell it like it is. He lived life large in his earlier years with downhill skiing and motocross racing – he often said if I knew I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself. He loved his Harley motorcycle and his gin and tonic. We will dearly miss you Fred, and we wish we could hear you tell another one of your stories.Family and friends will share memories on Saturday, September 7th at 3:00 p.m. at Restland Funeral Home, Wildwood Chapel. Those planning on an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Diabetes Association, Humane Society, or a local animal shelter of your choice.
