It was a sad day when Mr Land left me a phone message of Fred's passing. I knew him from fishing at Lake Lavon. He had a kind face, gravelly voice and such an infectious laugh! Oh how I enjoyed his laugh! He was one of the 'Dock Rats' that gathered at the Collin Park Marina. He and Mr Land were such a pair! They both had great stories and Mr Land has mentioned a time or two that they met fishing. Mr Land told me he taught Fred how to jig fish without minnows and Mr Land confessed that soon the student surpassed the teacher! I am so glad I was able to get them together at Fred's care facility and will treasure the pictures of those two friends together, one last time. I know it meant the world to Mr Land to see his dear friend and he had talked about visiting again. I am sure Fred is waiting for him, fishing rod in hand!
